The Fun Experience Walking in the Sky.

We arrived at the King Power Mahanakhon building around 5.45pm and found the ticket counters on the 1st floor of the lobby area where the staff gave us some information about each level. We quickly bought our tickets, went straight to the elevator queue, and prepared our cameras while waiting for the show to begin! Inside the elevator, there was a VDO playing on a digital wall all the way up, but it took just 50 seconds to reach the 74th floor! It must be one of the quietest and fastest elevators in Thailand.
What to do at Mahanakhon Skywalk?
There are three levels dedicated to the Mahanakhon Skywalk experience. We started from the 74th floor where we could see a beautiful 360-degree indoor panoramic view through the glass wall. This floor was quiet compared to the upper levels, so we spent time taking photos around the whole area without worrying about the crowds. I would say it’s my favorite floor.
We then took another elevator to the 75th-floor. This floor is an outdoor area with panoramic views where people can enjoy the highlight: a glass floor above the city. What? Did I try it? … No way! But one of us was brave enough to walk straight to the glass, and of course, I have a photo to prove it. (Remember: selfies are not allowed on the glass area).
People like me who don’t want to faint on the glass can still enjoy the highest rooftop bar experience on the same floor. We sat down and ordered beers as usual. While waiting for the blue hour, I put my camera down on the table after realizing that I should admire the breathtaking skyline with my own eyes and enjoy the atmosphere as well.
From this floor, we used the stairs to get to the highest level of 314 meters on the 78th floor. The view was amazing as we could see almost the whole city of Bangkok in full 360-degree. Most of the crowd was at this level, waiting for the sunset. We noticed that the tripods are allowed, unlike other rooftop bars in Bangkok that we’ve been visited.
On the way down to exit the building, we could appreciate the smart trick used by King Power duty-free as they force all the visitors to walk through the entire shop area. If you have a flight ticket, you can actually enjoy excellent discounts.
Overall, we enjoyed the Mahanakhon Skywalk. Even if the price is quite high, it is worth paying for the 360-degree view that you can’t get from anywhere else. I was really sitting at the top of Bangkok City!
