Koh Kradan

A perfect holiday at The Sevenseas Resort.

Koh Kradan is a small tropical island with beautiful scenery, clear turquoise waters, and a white sandy beach. It has been called one of the world’s best-hidden beaches. Koh Kradan is part of the Trang archipelago in Trang province, south of Thailand, and is in the Hat Chao Mai National Park. There are few resorts on the island, so it was a perfect place to get away from the big city for our summer holiday.

What we did in Koh Kradan

Koh Kradan is one of our favourite holiday destinations. We came here for a second time since May last year. As we arrived at the Sevenseas Resort around 11.00 am we first decided to check-in then have lunch and relax for an hour. After that, we enjoyed taking photos along the beach while waiting for the day to cool down. After 3 pm now we were ready to go and have some fun!

Koh Kradan is one of the best spots in Thailand for off-the-beach snorkeling, and the best part is you can just go directly from the beach to the sea anytime you want.  What did we do in Koh Kradan for 4 days?  Snorkelling and snorkelling and… more snorkelling. Yes, that’s all we did!  There were many colourful fishes and coral reefs everywhere. And we didn’t forget to visit our old friends “Nemo”.Koh Kradan

Believe it or not, we spent up 6 hours into the sea every day! It was so much fun, even one of our friends who didn’t know how to swim really enjoyed it. The funny thing was that tiger fishes kept following her and it helped us to spot where she was at all times.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a snorkelling equipment, the resort can provide snorkelling gear, towels, and even kayaks.

Morning shoot

We woke up early every day to enjoy a morning beach walk, and of course never forgot to bring our camera and drone with us. Sunrise in Koh Kradan was as beautiful as we expected, mainly when the sun was reflecting on the water.  We really loved the time spent walking along the beach, it was quiet and peaceful. We could only hear the sound of the waves and see the birds flying very low, almost touching the sea.

What to Eat in Koh Kradan

Our packages included breakfast and dinner, so we didn’t have to worry about the food. Unfortunately, there was no seafood… We checked with the staff, but no luck as the food on the menu mostly was western food. It was a bit weird, but we had no problem with it. For our lunch, we ordered classic and delicious Thai dishes such as Pad Kha Pao (Stir-fried basil with minced pork and green bean), Tom Kha Chicken (Thai chicken coconut soup) and stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts.

Where we stayed

We stayed 3 nights at The Sevenseas Resort, a hotel with 39 villas on a private beach with great ocean views and a tropical garden scenery just a few steps away from the beach. We booked ‘Villa-Siam’, which was not on the beachfront but on the second row. It was close enough to see the beach from our room. The size of the villa was perfect for us, and it came with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, TV, safe and mini bar. The room had two sections: the indoor bedroom, and behind it was an open-air bathroom!

Getting to Koh Kradan

We were happy to catch the morning flight from Bangkok to Trang as we could have our whole afternoon on the Island. It is one of the reasons why we chose Koh Kradan for our holiday again.

Our packages included a round trip transfer from Trang airport to the resort, so the staff was already waiting for us when we arrived. It took around 45 mins from the airport to Kuan Thung Khu pier and another 40 mins riding on a longtail boat to the resort. The best thing was we could pick our preferred time when we returned.Koh Kradan

Not only the ocean view at The Sevenseas Resort was excellent, but the service was too. All the staff were welcoming and very friendly; we were very impressed.
